RATING: 5 ★ |
At a glance...
- Taste: 5/5
[Aromatic. Sweetness is just right, with very slight bitterness. Premium coffee feel.]
- Is it worth it: Taste and cost wise, yes.
- Suitability: In the morning. When you want an affordable and good cup of coffee! Good for people who like stronger instant coffees; not overpowering, has a good balance.
REVIEW:
- Strength of coffee: On the stronger side, considering it's a 3 in 1 instant coffee. But not overpowering.
- Sweetness: Not too sweet, just right; it contains 40% less sugar. Visible slight bitter notes.
- Texture of drink: Normal
- Overall taste: Aromatic, good and refreshing
I usually drink black coffee, but I love trying other kinds from time to time — whether it's a fancy cafĂ© drink or a simple and economical instant one from the supermarket. I have to say, this coffee is really good! I highly recommend it!
What is Blue Mountain Coffee?
As stated on Hayman Coffee, Blue Mountain coffee originates from Jamaica's Blue Mountains and is celebrated for its exceptional quality, distinct flavor, and rarity, it’s often hailed as the Rolls-Royce or champagne of coffee.
Based on what I found, RICHBOY Blue Mountain Coffee does not actually contain Blue Mountain coffee beans, but uses beans with a clean flavor profile to replicate the original Blue Mountain taste.
The RICHBOY Blue Mountain Coffee does taste different from the regular 3 in 1 instant coffees that I've had (I'm strictly talking about regular instant 3 in 1 coffee, not white coffee).
I first tried this coffee a few years ago when my mother bought it from Malaysia. I've loved it since! It stood out to me because of its unique taste and it tasted like a premium coffee.
The sweetness level is perfect for me. The overall taste of the coffee is really smooth and well-crafted.
In terms of the strength and taste of the coffee, it's really on point. I like coffees that have a strong taste and scent. In other words, it has to be "coffee" enough for me to like it. This coffee definitely hit the mark! I tend to prefer stronger coffees, and the RICHBOY Blue Mountain Coffee didn't disappoint! While the coffee scent leans toward strong, it's not overpowering.
It's rare to come across "Blue Mountain coffee" (or a replica of it) made into instant 3 in 1 form. Since I don't drink 3 in 1 coffees as much nowadays, I decided to switch from what I normally "restock" previously (Nescafe) to this instead, hoping to support a smaller brand as well.
This is definitely worth a try if you normally drink instant 3 in 1 coffees! You can get this product from NTUC FairPrice, and Shopee (various stores; the store I normally buy from).
